Okay so I went to check on my big boy the other day and I see this...

Immediately I let him soak in warm water.
Gently massaged it. Not very long as it is obviously tender.

But nothing has come out. He is drinking and pooping as normal. He eats when he wants as I keep a bowl of meal worms in his tank.

He has thus stopped eating and I have begun giving baby food with a syringe letting him lick the end as I slowing expel the food.

He still drinks water normally.

He has also begun to develop mucous in his eyes and will not open one of them.

As sad and upset as I am about this I fear that it may be too late and have opted to euthanize him. (Method has not been chosen yet)

Other than the obvious vet visit any home remedies?

It makes me sad to hear you say that you want to euthanize your gecko for conditions treatable by a vet, especially because humane euthanasia also requires a vet. Please consider giving your gecko a chance at a long life by seeking out medical attention when necessary. These guys can live for decades and deserve the chance to do so.

Here's a link with some suggestions for treatment of the hemipene. Generally, this sort of thing happens when the environment is too dry or some sort of substrate has gotten in.

As for the eyes, pure saline eye drops (no additives) can be used to flush them. A bad infection might require antibiotic ointment though.

Please do not euthanize your Leo these conditions are treatable and shouldn't cost too much money. He looks way too healthy besides the swelling. Vet prescribed antibiotics shouldn't cost too much.

Thank you for the encouragement guys and I'm sad to so that Skairy died a couple days after this post. I don't thing it was something simple anymore as his hemipenes we really purple and you could literally see through the skin. By the time I was about to make the appointment he was dead the morning of. I really miss the little guy and am saddened by the loss of this member of my family.
