Clear liquid came from leopard gecko after bath.

New Leo not going potty.

Ok so I'm new to owning a leopard gecko, I got my (guy I think) about 8 days ago, he didn't poop for 2 days, pooped once and hasn't pooped since.

He has no trouble eating, always happy to hunt down the crickets and eat them all up. He came with eco earth in his tank but I changed that a few days ago to tile. Since I have had him, his hot side is 89-91 during the day and cold side about 75.

I started to worry about the not pooping and did a tone of reading and everyone says to give a warm bath about 90 and very gently massage the stomach.

I did all that and brought him back to my room and sat with him a bit because he didn't seem to want to leave the warmth of my hand/chest. While he was sitting in my hand completely still, I don't think I heard anything that may have startled him. He let out this clear liquid from his back end all over my hand.

Is this normal? Does this mean the bath helped maybe? He didn't drink any of the tub water except for licking my hand when it was wet.

A) Health/History
- How often do you handle your leo - He only really started allowing me to handle him yesterday really, handled him today as well.
- When was the last time he/she went - 5 days ago.

Housing:
A) Enclosure
- Size 30" 12" 12"
- Type (ex. glass tank) Glass tank
- Type of substrate - Eco earth when I got him, switched to tile a couple days ago
- Hides, how many, what kind - 3, 1 Large rock on hot side, 1 hollow half log on cold side, 1 med rock with damp paper towel in the middle for a moist hide
B) Heating
- Heat source - Zoo med heat pad
- Cage temps (hot side, cool side) - 89-91 hot, 70-78 cool.
- Method of regulating heat source - Light dimmer attached to heatmat. Previous owners had none
- What are you using to measure your temps - Probe thermometer, probe is taped on the tile, under some paper towel, under his hot hide. Previous owners had a mercury thermometer on the side of the tank...
- Do you have any lights (describe) My bedroom ceiling light. Previous owners used a 100W Sun glo exo terra bulb..
C) Cage mates - None
- How many (males, females)
- Describe health, or previous problems - Looks fairly healthy from the research I've done (which is a lot), but I am a new owner.

Describe Diet:
A) Typical diet
- What you're feeding (how often, how much) 5-7 crickets depending on size every 2 days
- How are you feeding (hand fed, left in dish, ect) Was feeding him in the tank at first, the last feed which was last night I put him in a clean rubbermaid bin to feed.

B) Supplements (describe how often) I dusted with calcium with d3 2 feeds, then 1 without. Without D3 has been left in his tank since I got him, previous owners did not do that.
- What vitamin/minerals are you using (list brands) Repti calcium W/o D3 ad Repti calcium W/D3
- What are you gut loading food with - Fluker's cricket quencher, calcium fortified and orange slices

He peed. I have gargs that pee on me every time I pick them up. I know the urates are white, but geckos do also let out clear liquid pee sometimes.

Yea that's what I kinda figured, can that still happen if he's backed up though? He hasn't pooped or left any urates in like 5 days. This would be obvious with humans but leos do it all with one hole so I'm lost. He also nearly never leaves his hot hide and sleeps all night except when he's looking for food/drink.

Sounds as though he's still digesting or possibly getting ready to shed. At this point, I would just wait for poop, unless he starts having really problems (like, cannot seem to walk/eat at all).

Don't worry about it. When giving my leopard geckos their dewormers or meds, they like to pee on me in refusal and it's usually clear and watery.

It's always important to note that leopard geckos need to perform osmoregulation just like humans. If you have excess water, your pee becomes dilute (clear) rather than concentrated (yellow). When geckos have excess fluid, they need to be able to expel it to maintain homeostasis, which is why they may need to release fluid in an unconsentrated form (clear liquid rather than solid urates).

Could also be a defense thing, although I've never had one do it to me in defense. But many of mine make puddles of liquid occasionally.

So I can finally pick him up and be comfortable enough to check out his belly and shoot a pic.. Now I'm really worried about the whole not pooping thing..

Is he eating? If not, I would not expect to see poop.

If he is eating, than he may be impacted. You said he was on Eco-Earth before you got him. You can try a warm soak each day and a drop of mineral oil on the nose.

He is definitely eating, with no issue. That's what I kinda suspected. I gave him a warm bath the other day, I guess I'll continue to try that.

The picture is a bit blurry, but to me it looks like his pre-anal pores which have bits of the waxy discharge stuck to them. You can just pull it out. For the impaction, you can also try putting a drop of olive oil on his nose for him to lick. That may help "grease" him.

Idk if I'm comfortable doing that yet, I'd be so scared to hurt him. Also he's not too comfortable with me yet either. He does look like he may be getting ready to shed, will it come off if I just wait for him to shed? or do I need to get it off asap?

It won't constrict anything, so you can leave it unless more shed gets stuck on there in the future.
