Pseudomonas is a particularly common bacteria, but it goes unnoticed unless the host has a compromised immune system. If the host has a weakened immune system or is living in poor conditions, the bacteria takes this opportunity to attack and spread. It prefers and seeks out moist areas, just like your gecko's mouth. It's been known to cause stomatitis in captive reptiles, which is the inflammation of the mouth and/or lips. Treatment varies, as the bacteria is unfortunately resistant to a majority of antibiotics, so I would contact a reptile specialist. And, just like the treatment, the outcome varies from case to case. Best of luck to you and your gecko. :)

The vet didnt say much about it just that it can be quite serious and she wrote the name down so my partner could show me and I could google it. She stopped the baytrill as the geckos mouth is clearing up and she has begun eating again . We are only giving small amounts of grub pie and mini mealworms for now until she can handle food again. The vet has put her back on fortum every 3 days .
