Weird coloration around mouth

Just got this guy at Tinley Park on Saturday. Didn't notice this coloration around his mouth before purchase. He's a 65g mature male. Not sure on age. Shows no interest in food and wonders his cage endlessly (seems as if my premature females are driving him crazy). Any ideas on what the coloration around his mouth could be?

I've seen spots that color on some of my geckos' heads. it doesn't look like any kind of abrasion to me, maybe it's just his coloration and he has a weird paradox marking on his mouth.
