Male age?

Hello, I've been thinking about breeding my geckos but I have no idea at what age does a male have to be in order to breed. Right now my male seems to be about 3 1/2 - 4 months old and my female about a year and 4 months (They surprisingly get along well if that's what you're wondering) I've been looking at like 5 different websites on breeding but none told me how old does a male have to be to start breeding. I'd also like to ask for some advice and tips to get me well started and if raising him with the female would affect them breeding in the future. Thank you in advance :)

Leopard geckos don't normally reach sexual maturity until at least 10 months, but it probably varies a bit between animals. Some earlier, some later. 4 months old is pretty young.

Also, I know you say they get along pretty well, but I would be very cautious of putting two animals together that have such a size difference. I would really advise against it. It won't affect them breeding in the future, but the female could injure your male very easily if she wanted to, and the chances of a bullying situation developing are higher with that much size difference.

Thanks for the information, at the reptile store when I got him, the breeder also told me their could be a high chance of one bullying the other unless I had a big tank(at the time he was like 4 inches long), so when I took him home I was rather nervous. Also, out of the times that she hurt him they were once in a small, temporary hide and he climbed all over her face to get to the back
and she gave him a small minor nip that didn't get to make a wound, and sometimes he tends to walk on her and she just smacks her tail on his face. Sometimes I hear the male grunting, I quickly look and he's just looking around while the female is on the other side of the tank, he usually does this daily. He's already her length in size, now he just has to get her size in width

The male is a Hypo and the Female is a High Yellow, don't know if that might mean anything

Are you positive that the male is only 4 months old? He sounds pretty big for being so young.

Hypo means a normal with reduced spotting and high yellow is a normal with reduced spotting and brighter yellow.

Sorry, took me a while to get the male to stop moving, he's currently shedding. How old is he approximately?

I'm not exactly sure how old both of them are, I'm just making an estimation. I just know for sure the female is more than a year old.

I have a friend that got a leopard gecko younger than mine (It was quite a bit smaller before) and now currently his is bigger and fatter than mine.

Yes, the male is the one that's shedding, The female is about 7 inches long and 1 1/4 inch wide while the male is about 6 1/4 long and 3/4 of an inch wide. I have seen the male trying to get on top of the female but unintentionally (From the way he seems to be walking it looks unintentional) and he just ends up getting whacked in the face by the female's tail.
