So I just paired my male with my female and the male was getting interested but the female kept whipping him with her tail and he did it back a little bit I'm just wondering if this is normal behavior or if there is a reason

Are you sure she was "whipping " him? I see my females a lot not so much whipping but they will raise their tail as to accept the male. More times than not if the female won't accept the male she will run away from him or bite him.

Yes I'm sure the first time I tried to pair them she raised her tail but he just wasn't interested this time the male was interested but the female kept hitting him in the face with her tail because he was aproaching from behind

My biggest female does whip her tail at males as well to the point that males sometimes even get pushed back too far lol..

Pretty normal. Your female is unwilling and is not ready to mate yet. Don't force it to avoid unnecessary stress to both geckos

Thank you that's exactly the answer I was looking for this sucks because the first time I tried to breed them the female was interested but the male was not and now this time the male is interested but now she isn't
