Gravid? Fat Body? Or something else?

Hey Guys,

So recently I noticed a white mass in one of my females' abdomen, I had tried to pair her several weeks prior to noticing this mass. The strange thing about this mass, is that it is right in the center of her abdomen. What do you guys think, is she gravid or is this a fat body (which again seems strange because fat bodies are usually off to the side)?

Fat pads and eggs are usually to the side, as you say. It could be a single egg. Just keep an eye on it and if it's an egg it will get bigger (and then get laid).

Thanks for the reply Aliza, I checked on her again yesterday (about 3-4 days after the above picture was taken), and it does indeed appear to be getting bigger, and spreading to cover more of her abdomen. So I assume she will be laying shortly

Good luck. I'm glad mine haven't started yet. I'm not ready to start the whole cycle again, but I'll be there soon.

Just an update (a bizarre one at that).. The white mass in her stomach has disappeared but she did not lay any eggs.

Hmm, perhaps she reabsorbed it. Maybe next time she's try for two?

Sorry, I dont understand what your question was. It is possible she absorbed it, although I am unsure as what would cause that.

Gravid? Fat Body? Or something else?
