So as my other post explains, my male acts a bit on the slow side. I am reading a copy of Herptoculture of Leopard Geckos. They explain the pairing of geckos in detail. I understand that unless near ovulation the females are not receptive, however my male doesn't even do the drumming or posturing that you would expect when a female is present. I don't see how it would be possible for him to know right away she isn't receptive, I mean, virtually without trying, so any ideas on that?

I can't remember if I mentioned this in your other thread, but I had a male gecko that I didn't see make advances to the female for years, but I always got fertile eggs and offspring. You just don't know what's going on when you're not watching!

Alright, thanks Aliza. Right now I am trying to adjust their feeding schedule. The book (and some other sites) say adults should be fed about twice a week. Mine are used to being fed pretty much daily, simply because it gave me a chance to interact with them. It is hard to judge when the females are "eating less" since some nights they may chow down 3 superworms, and other nights only 1. Just little changes but I'm hoping it will make things a bit easier. I am checking them every other night to look for signs of ovulation but I'm not very confident since I've never seen it with the exception of pictures. So who knows what will happen!

I feed mine Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday evenings. During egg-laying season, sometimes the females come to the front with that hungry look when it's not a feeding time, but I give them some anyway.

I fed mine tonight. I was going to wait until tomorrow but I am going out of town the next 2 days unexpectedly for a conference. 1 of the girls ate 5 supers, so I am going to say she probably isn't near ovulation. LOL. The other 2 ate decently, but not as voraciously.
