*sigh*
so taxes are filed and we have more than enough to get all the gear to breed this year... but for some reason i feel a tug to wait... i feel unprepared for this... with a new born in the house and the job hunt not doing so well... i just dont feel ready... to top it all off the whole morph thing is making me dizzy.. *shrug* i just dont feel like we are ready... does this happen to every first time breeder... am i over reacting? either way i think we will pick up a couple items... so we have a jump on next year... or who knows maybe later this year... just not now... *sigh* im so torn about it... and my wife and i have both agreed that if there is even the slightest of doubt then we should wait... so thats what we are doing... is this just "cold feet" how hard was every one elses first year... ive found the thought being pretty nerve racking lol.... thoughts?

Well, there are 2 possibilities. One, your gut is telling it to you straight, that you're way too overextended to add another project to your lives. Or else, it's kind of like when you apply for a job and actually get it and then you think "do I really want to do this?" I usually feel similarly when I finally decide to buy something. Only you will know which one it is and it might just take a bit more time for your gut to tell you which one. I assume you've already thought about where to house hatchlings and how to sell/give away/keep. If you're not sure, you could compromise by breeding only 1 pair which would limit your offspring. Then if you post what pair you're breeding, people can tell you what to expect from the babies (or you could wait and be surprised . . .).

I think only you in the end know what is right for you. We bred 3 pairs last year and it was alot of work. We had a first time breeder that I thought would only lay a few eggs that ended up laying 8 clutches. It took alot of time each day to feed all those babies once they hatched until they were ready to sell. I didn't have too many problems selling them. It was actually worth all the work. I enjoyed seeing people enjoy my babies. If it feels like too much right now then there is no hurry...wait until it won't be stressful for you. You want to be able to enjoy the experience. The whole morph thing still makes my brain hurt, lol. I am greatful that there are so many great people here to help me with the genetics. As Aliza said maybe you can start out with just one pair and see how it goes.
