First development of gravid females' eggs-- What to look for?
People will say to look at the belly of the leopard gecko to see if she's gravid. From the point that the egg was conceived, how long after would one see any change in the females' belly? More specifically, what is there to see? Is the egg formation going to be in the lower abdomen near the legs, or higher up?

Bump. I have this diagram...

Which of these, A, B, C, would I be looking for the first development of the eggs?

Ah, it's that clear just a few days after they mate? I may have some doubts on whether she's really pregnant, in that case.
EDIT: Ok, I see a single 'egg' formation on one side, but only one. Apparently this is common for first-time pregnant geckos, so I suppose she's gravid after all.Last edited by Glass_; 06-10-2012 at 03:32 AM.

You may see nothing. I looked numerous times with and without a flash light and my girl laid with no signs of eggs. I believe she is getting ready to lay again soon, she is doing a lot of digging.

Is it possible for a female to mate with a male if she is not ovulating? Because I mated three females last week and so far I see nothing. But they all openly accepted with no struggle. I heard they only mate in ovulation.

Yea, that's another thing I was wondering as well. I assume that the male mates with a female gecko regardless of whether or not she's ovulating, but that's just my speculation.
