In breeding my pure afghan to a mack raptor many eggs look fine and at mature date nothing comes out, but after inspecting there is a full developed hatchling in side but no life in it. Anyone have experience with this. The female breed last year with no problems. But now only two off six eggs have hatched.

I can't tell you why, but I have had full term "dead in the egg" on occasion as well most years I breed. Just had one with a full term gargoyle whose clutchmate hatched fine. One summer I came down to check the incubator and had 3 babies that had hatched. Two were dead and one was fine. I don't know why, it just happens.

Thanks Aliza, only time its happened. The female is very high strung Mack raptor, and breeding seems to really stress her so I won't ever breed her again.
