Hi this is my first time breeding and I have a few questions...
My female is about 8 months old and 75 grams.. I gave my female a hid to lay her eggs in and I notice for a bout a week she stopped eating... About a week and a half ago I took my male and stuck him in her tank to see what would happen and my female was ok at first but within a few mins she started to shake her tail so I took him out to avoid altercation... I noticed now that it looks like she might have eggs in her belly... I was wondering if she has eggs in her belly how long can it take her to lay the eggs... Also when should I put the male back in her tank to mate... Is it ok to put the male into the females tank or will she become aggressive every time... How will I no when I place the male in if they are going to breed or if they are going to fight what signs should I look for... I will try and get a photo of my females belly later if I can... Thank you any help will be greatly appreciated

Hard to tell from the pics, could just be fat deposits. This is also my first year breeding, but I have put 3 different females with my male to mate; and this is what I have learned so far;
- putting the male into the females tank has worked best for me
- females have a pretty small window of time, when they are ovulating, that they will accept male. This is when the ovulation is still quite small and hasn't yet developed into eggs.
- when my females are receptive they will lay low to the ground, and lift tail.
- when the female is not receptive, they arch back, wave tail, smack male with tail, then usually bite the male-I try to observe and get the male out before the female attacks!
- if female is not receptive, I try again in 2-3 days

This is a learning process and I think everyone has to observe their geckos and learn the signs for themselves, but as soon as you see it a couple of times, it will make more sense!

8 months is still a little young, and it's possible she isn't ovulating yet.

My females laid their first clutches on Day 24 and Day 26 after mating. You really couldn't see anything distinctly in the belly until about Day 17...before that, it just looks like "white masses" (I couldn't tell if they are ovulations or eggs)
