so i was adding water to my vermiculite and decided to candle my eggs and started to see movement they were laid on 7/22 and I've been incubating them at 83 for the first 3 weeks then slowly bumped it up 86 how many more weeks do you think it could take until they hatch? the eggs look a little swollen but not like some of the pics I've seen of ones about to hatch

I would thing they'd hatch right around 6 weeks at those temps so should be any day now. Careful with your water ratio especially toward the end. If the eggs get waterlogged it could be bad for the babies. I try to keep mine as close to 1:.8 substrate to water ratio throughout incubation. Good luck! Hope to see baby pics soon!

Usually my 85/86 temp incubation happens in about 55 days. I am not sure how the lower temp for the 3 weeks will effect that. I have never done the "sex them, spike them" method. I am a purist I guess. But no matter what temp you use, patience is a tough thing to have when you check your eggs once (more like 100) times a day. In the correct time though, you will have beautiful new babies!! Good Luck!!
