So I've been doing some research on Inubators, and I'd like to spend under $150 for one, which is why I'm leaning towards the Hova Bator 2362N model from LLL reptiles. They have pricier versions, but I don't need a big window. It has a fan built in.
Do I need to use a thermostat for it like I would a heat pad? Would a hydrofarm thermostat be okay? It tends to go up or down 2 degrees.
Or am I okay to plug it in and use the built-in thermostat wafer thing? With a thermometer of course.
If this is a bad incubator, are there other better ones you guys swear by that would be in my price range? I'm hesitant to make my own :/
I'm leaning towards Hatch Rite as an egg substrate, as I've heard good things like it's less maintenance. Yay or nay? Holes or no holes in the containers? Does that depend on the substrate?
Thanks for any input!
