I know it sells well at shows in Ohio............. They bag it up and sell it for like 5 bucks. I am not sure how much they put in a bag though

I've had the same problem finding vermiculite in stores. Ever since the asbestos contamination problem in vermiculite that happened a while back, a lot of stores stopped carrying it. I think it just depends on where you're at.

One place to check that is often overlooked is in the section where the hardware stores keep indoor gas heaters that look like little fireplaces. There's often vermiculite in bags over in that section because it holds heat really well. Most of the time the staff don't know what vermiculite is though, so you're on your own unless you go to the service desk and make them look it up.

I;m not sure if Home Hardware is a Canadian only chain, but I found a decent size bag of vermiculite there for $5 CDN.
