I was feeding the babies and I noticed the oldest hatchling bubblegum had her house torn up a bit, stuff pushed around etc. so I decided I'd pick her up to socialized and I noticed her front right hand was very swollen and red, with stuck shed halfway up to her elbow very thick. So I got a qtip and tweezers and got it off. IT looks bad! Her hand is still swollen and there's a dug in crease where the shed was! She's really favouring it by limping but is still using it. She's still eating and pooping, in a shoebox tub on paper towel, 2 hides a water dish and a calcium food bowl. Hot spot measures 93 by temp gun. I've included a pic and a recent pic of the setup as well. Thanks in advance!!

Hmm. It looks a bit displaced to me. It's hard to tell from the pictures, but it looks like it may be the beginnings of MBD or a broken wrist. Does she have access to calcium without D3 in a bowl in the tub? What do you dust her food with?

If it's a broken wrist, it will probably heal okay on its own. There isn't much you can do aside from pain meds, but sometimes I think administering meds does more harm than good because of the stress.

The stuck shed may be because the foot was too painful to pull the shed off. I would do a gecko sauna and get it really soft and very gently try to pull it off. If it is an injury, you don't want to make it worse, so you'll need to be more careful than usual.

No worries! Thank you for your response. She has calcium no d3 in tub and calcium d3 dusted :) it seemed like she got it rolled down far enough it got too tight she couldn't bite it again so it started cutting in. I'm glad I noticed her home was off or it could've been bad!

Ok update. I took her out today and she is limping turned in on her front legs. Is it the start of MBD? I dust the mealworms as best as I can but it doesn't work. I put a bigger dish in a high traffic spot hoping she will use it. Can I administer calcium drops? I have zoo med calcium spray that says it can be administered in severe cases 2-3 drops. I imagine I should dilute this? Thank you in advance.
