General set up question

Hi,

I am getting a set up for a fat tail that my dad said I could have if i got my grades up this semester and I studied and wrote a report on the kind of lizard I wanted and how to take care of it. I am getting grades that are better that what my dad said I needed so I am getting all of the things I need, but I haven't yet picked up a lizard.

I found a 20L aquarium with a screen top and it also came with 2 bamboo hides, and 2 digital thermometers, one with a hygrometer, an under tank heater and a reptile watering bowl.

I was wondering about the bowl. It has never been used and is probably , an inch to one and a half inches high and looks kind of like a rock. Everywhere i've read says to use a shallow water bowl, but I'm wondering if this is OK or if i need to look for something shallower.

Also, I've made a humid hide out of a tupperware bowl and have sphagnum moss for it. How much water do I spray in or how wet should I keep it? I know the hide should be kept on the cool side of the habitat and that it shouldn't be too wet, but I am not sure how wet I should make it. I am sorry if these questions are too basic, but I want to get my set up in place to be sure I get the temps and everything right before I get the gecko. Thank you for your help.

I am very exicted to get an AFT, but I want to make sure that I do everything right as well.

The water bowl should be fine. I use paper towel in my humid hide and spray about 5-10 shots each time. I'd say spray till there are moisture drops on the sides but not so much that there's visible water on the bottom. Keep asking, these specific questions are easy to answer. It's good you're doing your research.
