Dry Feeder Insects in CGD

I was wondering if Fruit Flies mixed in with Pangea CGD with extra Calcium could replace crickets for Insect Protein. Crickets contain 64-65% Protein and 12-14% Fat and 1:9 CA to P Roaches contain 53% Protein and 28% Fat and 1:3 CA to P, and Fruit Flies contain 70% Protein and 13% Fat and 1:10 CA to P. Seeing as Fruit Flies are better than Crickets in all aspects and better than Roaches other than Fat and the no need for extra Calcium with Roaches. Good idea, bad idea, or will it work just fine? Also I found some new naturally dried fruit flies with 78% Protein and 28% Fat. Just wondering if it would be better and more beneficial overall ground up with calcium mixed in with the CGD vs live or dried crickets or roaches.

Posted this in chat and got no responses and not many people replying to anyone so moved it here.

If the nutritional value of fruit flies is as you say (there's a lot of false info out there on the internet ) and the fruit flies will actually be eaten and not spit out by the geckos, it may be worth a try. I know that crickets and roaches that get too much protein turn it into uric acid which, when ingested by geckos, can lead to gout, so packing in the protein should be investigated as well.

Thanks a lot for the info, the plan is powdering the flies and mixing with the needed amount of Calcium With D3. I did this earlier. The ones I went with are from Zoo Med with a 78% Protein and 14% Fat overall content. Powdering them and Putting them in Pangea CGD is the plan, after I got them powdered and mixed with the Calcium they had a sweet almost dark chocolate smell. I'm going to record weight gain every week and see how it compares to the breeder I'm getting it from results with a similar mix using Roaches. Thanks for the info again and I'll post average weight gain once I get it and it starts eating well.
