i've only ever had experience with one crested (my roommate's), and she's so much fun and loves to be held. she's very well behaved. she can be fast though. but generally she's great. i don't know about others though.

Mine sure dont seem to like it, i heard they calm down as they get older but mine never seemed to. In fact tonight when i opened the tank to put in some crickets my one male jumped out onto my face. He did let me pick him up and put him back in though.

I have 2 that like to be held ( 1 is a 2 year old male and the other is a 3 month old), I have one 4 month old female that tolerates it and one 6 month old male that HATES it. He does everything to get away. I don't handle him as much as I did because he seems to hate it and I don't want to cause him more stress.

I cant tell if mine like it or not but after careful coaxing they both crawl and jump all over me. Both are young so hard to tell if they will mellow when they get older. I like to handle them over my queen size bed because they do like to jump, at least this way they can catch some air. Now if only someone could invent a device that reptiles could use to let us know what theyre thinking, hhhhmmmmm.

I'd say it's 50/50. I have some that like to be held and so that don't.

all 4 that have been at the store where i work have been very calm and easy to handle. you definitely had to hang on to them though because they'd run up your sleeve or try to jump LOL.

all of mine were jumpy when i got them but by handling them everyday or so they have become calmer. sometimes my little one will sit on my finger for 10, 12 minutes at a time.

Calm? I don't know that I'd go that far. They are fast & agile & able to jump quite far. But that said, all 3 of mine can be handled. The oldest one is the calmest of all but will make a flying leap if you aren't ready with a cupped hand to block his vision. They feel like suede & are totally worth the effort of getting them used to being held.

Lol Andrew one of mine jumps on my face too, I think he sees my nose as a nice place to land!! :main_laugh: I am so used to it now I can tell when he is about to take off and I just close my eyes and let him (the first time can startle you a bit) The more I hold them the more they get used to me (which can seem as calm) if they are less afraid of you they wont react so frantically and they wont be as fast (although some are just very skiddish and hyper like they have drank a ton of coffee) but you know what.. they love to jump :main_rolleyes:

i have had 2 that will just hang out on your shoulder. both have been males. one of the males, i still have and will end up keeping even after i'm done breeding him. he just hangs out on your hand or shoulder.

the rest of my cresteds tolerate handling, but prefer to just hang out in their enclosures.
