I'm more of a leopard gecko person but I do have a crestie who is a doll. I got him back on February 18th at 8g, he's now up to 30.7g Is his growth rate ok? It seems slow but all I have to compared to are leopards and they can grow crazy fast soo...Just figured I'd check is all. He's not fulled sized yet which I've read can take a 1-1 1/2 years. His tail isn't super fat obviously but it's pretty dense and thickfor a crestie(I've heard they can sometimes store a small amount of fat in their tails?). He eats repashy now but he's gone through phases of fat gecko. I want to get him pangea at the next expo(he was a bit fussy over his food for awhile there). I do feed him the occasional meal worm, I use it to bribe him into coming out of his tank on his own with them :p Otherwise he's very healthy, active, and overall pretty fearless. He's kept at a 76-78F with a planted terrarium(the floor is covered in moss so no worries he can't get at the substrate!) I live in New England so having it planted was one of the better way I found of keeping his humidity up and stable, plus he loves his snake plants. Thanks for your time!

Holy cow he's growing super fast! Most cresteds take 2 years to make it to 40g. If you're feeding a lot of bugs I'd slow down. Growing too fast is bad for them. To give you an idea of how mine are growing -

Little dalmation I picked up in Oct 2013 at 3g is now 15g;
Little dalmation I picked up in December at 2g is now 8g;
Harley male I picked up in March at NARBC at 12g is now 20g.

I feed 4-6 dubia no more than once every five days and give them as much CGD as they can eat and change it every 2-3 days.

I change his cgd every night but sometimes ill dropper it to him if I have him out to make sure he's eating enough. He doesn't get to many bugs, a meal worm or cricket 3 maybe 4 times a week. So tops 4 bugs a week. The crickets I feed him are ony about a half inch. I do give him vitamins twice a week as well when I give them to my leopards. He didn't eat the cgd well at first so I was always a bit paranoid he wasn't get if enough vitamins or anything so I always sat and dripped his food to him and now I just do it every so often out of habit/he seems to like it. Also associating me with food has made him pretty friendly. Glad he's nt to small though! Makes me feel a bit better.
