OK so I bought a crested gecko from a local breeder on Saturday. He said it was to young to sex and that it was 3 months. But it's tiny so I don't know if I can trust him on the age.

Also I have been feeding it (it because I don't know the gender yet) repashy crested gecko food because that was what the breeder was using, i didn't want to just fully change it to something else, but I don't think it's eating anything yet because I can't find and poop

Also could tell what type of crested gecko it is?

PS I have had other types of geckos before just never had a crestie. also the pictures are for last Saturday I have since bought 12 by 12 by 18 enclosure until he grows bigger

Congrats on your first crested! Age in geckos is hard to judge on size alone. Cresteds tend to hatch out around 1.5-2.5g and grow pretty slowly. At 3 months old I would expect them to be 3-5g in weight, still pretty small as they don't take off growing like other species that are kept at warmer temps.

Your setup looks nice and your gecko looks to be a healthy weight. I would make sure you're not keeping the bin wet all the time. It's a good idea to only spray enough to that the bin dries out for a few hours every day or every other day. Without periods of lower humidity they can begin to have respiratory and shedding issues. I would also limit handling until you notice poo and eating. I feed my babies out of water bottle caps, like the really shallow small ones from 16.9 oz Poland Spring bottles. Some geckos won't eat the food until its a day or two old so I leave it in in the tank for 3 days before changing it. Any longer and it sours and starts to grow mold. I also recommend folks feed Pangea CGD, my geckos really seem to do well on it. I look for about 10% weight gain per month - so a 3g gecko would tend to grow .2-.4 grams in a month. Of course, growth may slow a bit after a change to a new environment as stress plays a role as well.

Hope this helps and best of luck with your new gecko!

Yeah thanks for the info. I've found poop on the paper tower this week so I know it's eating and I've been using the lids of the Gatorade bottle for the food because they are wide but not very deep. I would like to get pangea but none of the reptile pet store around me sells it and for me to buy it online, the shipping is almost the same price at the food for me. And I can found repashy at almost every store I've been too.
