I was givin a website to get repashy food for her but kinda confused do i buy 2 parts or just 1??? cause apparently petstores dnt carry it what else can i feed her until it comes? heard baby food works? I have small crickets for her ill give her some tomorrow. Any advice what to give her housing wise or food wise ect appreciate the tips :)

No heat or UV is needed for these guys.

CGD comes in 2 forms, the normal CGD and a part 2 form. The part 2 is the exact same thing as CGD EXCEPT it comes in different flavors and you must mix it yourself, unlike CGD comes already pre-mixed for you. Honestly you should have bought CGD before bringing it home, bext to have everything you need first before buying it. Myself I always send home first time crested gecko owners with a smaple of CGD to get them through until their bag arrives. But many pet stores do sell CGD, ***** and ******** normally carry it so call around and see if they have it. If they dont and you are close to the breeder, ask them if you give them $2 if they will give you a few oz to get you through until your CGD arrives. But for you since you are first starting out, just go with the part 1 diet and dont mess with the part 2 diet.

Normally these guys live in kritter keepers or like sized storange containers until 8-10g when they upgrade into a 10 gallon tank. But a 6 month old crested gecko can really vary in size since these guys are slow growers, so you could be looking at a 8g gecko, but then again your gecko could be 5g. So you may want to consider buying a cheap digital scale to help monitor its weights. Which brings me to, crested geckos under 15g are "possible" females, males can take a long time to mature, I even had a male finally show pores at 12g, I bought a "female gecko" at 17g, it arrived and I seen it had pores and the last time the breeder checked for pores was when the gecko was 14g, so as you can see over the course of 3g the gecko showed pores. This is why you never seen someone sell a sexed female under 18g simply because of liability of the gecko actually being male.

With the enclosure itself as far as decoration goes, you want 3 of the 4 sides of the tank covered with plants, and roughly 50% of the total space of the tank being plant cover and vines. You will want at least 1 hiding place on the floor for the gecko.

thank you . imcalling petstores for the gecko food today, the breeder said to get any flavor but the flavors are the part 2 arent they? there is a few plants in there right nw i will add more today. It didnt really matter to me if it was female or male not looking to breed these and she is very small , the breeder said probable female but i know its never a sure thing until they mature so Ill call her a her for now lol. I didnt plan to buy so soon was messaging breeders to maybe pick one up later this week or next week so I could get the stuff but she ccouldnt hold her and gave me a discount so today im running around gettin stuff.

Is it best to keep her on paper towel for now? I have seen the petstores and the breeder with tanks with {what looks to be coco fiber} but figured its like leos where you run a risk with impacton??

Until she is about 15g, yeah I would keep it on paper towels so there is simply no chance of impaction.

Yes the different flavors are the part two, and not all geckos enjoy some of those flavors, I have some who ove the fig and hate the mango, then the ones who love the mango hate the fig, so it can be quite challanging finding the correct food which is why it is suggested that first time owners just with with the normal CGD and play your hand at the part 2 once you have had your gecko established well and eating well. Normally I only suggest the part 2 when the geckos are not eating.

I kept all of my cresties in kritter keepers until they were about 4-5 months old, then I bumped them to larger tanks.

I use to buy the 2 part diet and weigh out each cup for my 4 crested geckos, but out of ease when I had someone watch my geckos I mixed the 2 part into one container and mixed it really well. It has worked out great, I only have to get my cups scoop some CDG into it and then add water. My 4 cresties all love the banana flavour, I tried Mango, Rose and Strawberry and always had someone refuse at least one of the flavours, tried banana and everyone chowed down.

I think that paper towels provide the best substrate for when they are young.
