One question I can't seem to find the answer to is once a female and male have mated, should they be seperated until eggs are laid or not. Or is the pair recommended to stay together for the whole breeding season(8 months)
Thanks! -Elliot

Depends on who you ask. For me, I introduce my males and females in a separate tub just for breeding and return them to there own tubs once they are.... finished which is normally less than 10 minutes. Some breeders leave the male in until they get fertile eggs and then remove him, while others leave them paired all season. If done properly, all of these methods work. I prefer to keep there time together as minimal as possible to reduce any potential stress.

Okay, I think your method is what ill do, that way once eggs are laid I can introduce the male again a few days later. Thanks so much!

The male only needs to breed with the female once per season. The female will store the sperm and fertilize multiple clutches of eggs.

Hey Brad- do you pair them up again after the 3rd clutch, or do u find that the females continue producing good eggs throughout the season after one pairing?

I'm debating giving the ladies a second "dose"...
