Hey All!

I picked up a hatchling leachianus, and this is my first one so I wanted say hello, share some photos and ask a question!

Here is my new little guy Bulbasaur, only 10 days old!

My question is does anyone have any tips of getting him/her to eat? Now he's just been put in a new enclosure on Thursday, I'm feeding Repashy Crested Gecko diet. When I got him he did poop in his old enclosure so I do know he has had something to eat since hatching. He seems quite active and is always out and about when I check his enclosure for humidity and poops.

Any other tips in terms of handling/not handling for a period of time, feeding or anything else welcomed :) That said I have done a tone of research before purchasing and have the correct set up humidity levels etc. Thanks!

Stick his nose in the CGD a few times and then just be patient. He will eat eventually. I got a fairly young leachie about a year and a half ago that weighed 7 grams and I worried and weighed him regularly feeling that he wasn't eating. Now he weighs in at 135gr. and cleans his bowl every time I feed him.

Ok thanks that sounds like a good tip! Do you feed yours live feeders straight away as well? Or should I be focusing on CGD initially and then once that's going strong then try live? Thanks!

Hi there, Other than the CGD you could try offering some life feeders. Try to wait till he is eating CGD though. Raising baby leachies can be tricky. I remember mine, they always scared me about eating. I was worried all the time they weren't eating enough. So what I would do is hand feed them CGD with a spoon. It helped a lot with getting those little sausages to eat lol
