I need your oppinion. I have a probable male Main Island R. Chahoua that is weighing in at 6 grams approx. (getting weighed tonight). I have no idea what the parents look like as the parents were never shown to me.
PATTERNS I SEE SO FAR: I use uvb and i mainly see dark browns with hints of reds/pinks and some dark greens when it is on. When it is NOT on, I see light greens and some light tans, and VERY slight traces of red/pinks.
MY QUESTION: As adults, what do you think his pattern may be and why? Have fun with this plaese and tell me what you think, based on what you've seen!

Congrats on your baby chahoua, Typically mainland chahouas are more brown/red/green with not much contrast. Pine Islands have greater contrast and their colours are often more vibrant. It is also hard to say what your chahoua will look like when it's an adult when it is only 6grams. Typically parents are a good indication, however like you said you don't know what the parents look like. I would suggest contacting the breeder and getting pictures of the parents if possible(breeders often get emails with such requests, so it's no big deal). You will have to be patient and watch your chahoua grow.

Thank you for your reply. I know that there really isn't an ACTUAL way to tell...this is simply for fun. The breeder is who I bought the baby off of, however he said "I had pictures...dammit!", Then he informed me that he couldn't find them. He now seems to busy to message back too...which is frustrating. So thats the story with that. I really think that for a mainland, this particular baby seems to be more vibrant than the ones I have seem. His pinks seem to show more and greens are coming out AWFULLY early too....its a good thing though, so we will see what he looks like as time passes. Have you seen my pics, BTW? Also, I weighed the baby last night...more like 7 grams (6.9 exact). Thank you for te congrats, and I will be looking at your page as soon as this is sent!
