Just picked up a Female Smooth Knob Tail Gecko last week. From the research I have done online, I have provided lots of sand for her to burrow in. But she hasn't been eating much, maybe a small mealworm every now and then. She has just been burrowing alot . Am I doing something wrong?

might I add, you might wanna try feeding her crickets, the faster the movement, the more it attracts the animal, not necessary though, they'll eat most feeders on the market out there

Its 75 degrees on the cool side and 85-90 on the hot side . In Singapore our weather gets quite warm so heating hasn't been much of an issue for me.I will try feeding her crickets later today. May I also ask how often should I clean out her cage because I put in alot of sand for her to burrow in and its quite expensive. Any cheaper substitute?

I clean everyday, just scoop the feces along with some of the sand. Over here in US we have playsand that is really cheap at our home depot, I've used this without any issues of impaction or anything else. I'd say replace the sand every 6 months, but me myself I play by ear and change when I get a hint of odor issues.

Ok thanks for the advice.:) In Singapore we don't really have any place to buy playsand, we don't even have a home depot haha. I think I'll stick to your advice about removing the feces everyday.
