My son and I are going to set up a habitat for two velvet geckos (we don't have them yet) and were after some specific details about heating,
We have been looking at this diagram.
http://www.dolittlefarm.com.au/docs/velvet.pdf
From what I understand, a heat pad is placed under one half of the tank under the substrate. The temperature in this spot is supposed to be 30 - 32C. The cool spot in the tank is supposed to be at about 27C.
Where do the thermostat probes go to measure the temperature? Also, from what I can see, the lights are not for heat, so how does one heat the cooler part of the cage?
Thanks. I appreciate your response.
Warmest regards
Angelo
