Hey guys, came here to ask advice of those with knowledge of Geckos.

So I saved this little guy from my dogs (chihuahuas :D), it looked like he had done enough to avoid injury. We get alot of these in and around our house so this occurs a few times a week.

Anyway, as I picked him up to take him outside, I noticed something was up with one of his back legs. At 1st glance I thought the dogs must have bitten it off. However I the leg was visible to a degree so I thought he might have had trouble shedding, however on closer inspection, the leg and tail were fused together.

I'm just wondering if it would be appropriate for me to give the little guy a hand and remove the gecko's tail and attempt to separate it from the leg?

Or, seeing it is now about 5-6cm long, would it be fine leaving it as it is seeing it has survived thus far?

Cheers.

Sounds like that was a good plan. I kind of feel that geckos that start out in the wild should probably stay there. It's interesting that it made it so far.
