I purchased an adult Male from a pet supplier near me. They labeled him as a leopard gecko but after seeing him compared to my other Leos I'm not sure. My leos avg weights are around 50-55g for the adults, this guy is 92g. He doesn't eat a lot so I don't think that he is over weight. Is there any way I can tell? uploadfromtaptalk1416894942184.jpg

Leopard gecko. :) He's just a big boy. I recommend Googling the two species for images and comparing.

AFTs tend to have:

  • a smoother body shape with more rounded edges
  • a narrower, less flat head
  • shorter tail compared to body length; tail can look a little more bulbous
  • smaller feet

The color morphs are also quite different between the two species.

you just have to familiarize yourself with the shape of a healthy leo for their age ect. but their the same as people, come in all different weights lol. some are just bigger then others, as long as hes got a nice fat tail and there isn't any bony prominences id say he was okay. a picture would help us tell :)

I'm pretty sure your gecko's morph is Tremper Albino. The one in the first post. I'd have to get a closer look at the eyes to be sure.
