I think I might have posted about this as a question a while back, but I don't see it. Anyway, after a little experimentation, I've found something that Soleil likes. :) Sometimes she hangs out with me when I watch tv, and she's very frequently around when I'm on the computer. I started noticing that sometimes she would look at the screen when there were things moving. So one night when I was watching tv, I had the idea to see how she would react to one of those live wallpaper things for my phone. Normally at that time of day she finds a cozy spot to continue her napping, and she was drowsy, but watching me. So I put on a peaceful screen saver with clouds that float by, all nice shades of blue and a bit of purple. I set the phone so the display wouldn't go dark after a minute or two, and put my phone in front of her little blanket cave. She sat and watched it for nearly the entire 10 minutes my screen stayed on. Just that sort of zoned out look we might have if we were watching a relaxing screen saver. So I downloaded a couple of different ones for my Kindle, and now when I go to bed I put that in front of her tank. I feel a lot better knowing she has something to look at if she wants to, and I see her watching it a lot. Her favorite cave on the desert side of the tank has "windows" and she'll watch through there, or by sticking her head out the main entrance. The more time I spend with her, the more I feel that reptiles might have a little more going on than has been traditionally believed. I inadvertently made her think there was a prey item in front of her, when I moved a shoelace in front of her. She lunged at it, but I don't feel that she would enjoy that sort of game, and would just get frustrated and annoyed that it wasn't actually food.

On a totally different topic, I somehow scared her the other night while she was in the mouse pad and she dropped her tail. :( I felt SO guilty, and slightly freaked out, since I didn't know that had happened until the tail was flopping around my hand. She didn't seem bothered about it, and I have to admit I found it very interesting to see the sort of star shape of the detached tail, and be able to more clearly see how they can even drop their tail like that. Unexpectedly, I think this is actually a good thing for her. I mentioned in another post that she had taken a fall and was having mobility issues in her back legs. Now that the weight of her tail is gone, I notice her actually trying to use those legs more, and I think maybe she can strengthen them while waiting for her tail to regrow.

Hope everyone's leos are doing well! I tried to post a picture of my baby as my profile pic, but even following the size restrictions, it would let me upload it. :(
