Pet shop gecko in horrible condition :(

Wow he looks dead. That is very sad, it does look like he is shedding so that's a good sign.

What did the pet store say?

I didnt want to say anything especially since im short and 15 yrs old i felt like theyd just kick me out since im just a kid but i was thinking about it i have a leopard gecko and i felt like just asking if i could take him but yeah i wanna volunteer at the pet shop and ask if i could take care of future geckos

IMO, taking in geckos from pet shops is not usually a good idea. A) it frees up space for the shop to get more geckos that suffer the same way B) these geckos could easily (and likely do) have crypto, which would greatly endanger your current leopard gecko. Since crypto can't be cured, the geckos can't normally be saved anyways.

Unfortunately, there is not a lot people can do about these situations. The sad reality is that it's not uncommon, and crypto runs rampant in pet store geckos.

Sometimes the best thing is never go to the pet shops and encourage others to do the same

Oh my goodness, that poor thing. I have very little experience with geckos myself, but one would have to be blind to not see that that animal is suffering. The social media is a powerful thing. Maybe share the photo with would-be local patrons to highlight the mistreatment. :(
