Should I give a gecko away?

I have two leopards that I've gotten about a month or two now (their previous living condition was very bad, they hadn't been fed for a while before someone that came into the house they were at started living there and they didn't feed them until I convinced them to do so, until I got them and now they're putting on some weigh) and they've been relatively kosher, though avoidant of each other. I heard from various video, that depending on the sex they could be housed together for a bit until I could get another tank.

Unfortunately, because of their weight and their skittishness, and being a first time gecko keeper myself I didn't know how to properly sex them nor did I want to stress them since it took a bit for them to get used to my hands coming in and out of the tank. I sexed one, which was male named Mako, but not getting a properly look at the other I presumed it was female. Which, I just realized tonight while the other was shedding that the other, Dandelion, was male as well (I believe, maybe I should take a closer look). But, regardless they had a go at one another. ;A; And I'm worried it'll happen again which from what I've read will probably happen.

I'm an at-home college student and at the moment I don't work and no applications are coming through. I can try to convince my mother they need a divider, but I have no idea if that'll go through too well.

Should I consider giving one away?

Edit: I've also thought about putting a cardboard to supplement as a divider, although I don't know how that would go with the substrate I use, but would that suffice or would they nibble or tear at it?

I would definitely separate them. If they're both male, they will fight. A piece of cardboard may work if you can find a way to secure it well. The only problem is that they both need heat, so your UTH would need to be big enough to provide them both heat from the middle or you would need two of them.

BTW, what substrate are you using, since you mentioned it?

Whether or not you give one away or not is entirely up to you.

Like Neon said separate them for sure.

If you have a tank fully set up now then maybe finding a good home for the other isn't a bad idea. If you wanted to set up another tank that isn't too hard. You can normally find 10g tanks very cheap, hides can be build cheap the cost will be a UTH. But you could do a full set up for about $30 if you look around for some deals. You can use rubbermaid tubs also just need to be large enough.

I do have a full tank set up now, but I have been contemplating smaller hides because there only one big one they came in if I do split them in the tank I have currently. Although, I don't know how that'll go since I've read its not good to keep them in the same tank.

Thank you so much for the reply as well.
