Every time I let my Luna climb on me I get these horrible itchy bumps?

Hmm, this has never happened to me. I wonder if you could be mildly allergic to something the gecko has on her skin. You could try taking a Benadryl. If it helps, than you would know it is an allergy.
I don't get it with the leopard geckos but I do get it with the gargs and my leachie. It is probably a mild allergy. I also have a bad allergy, unfortunately, to mealworms and if I happen to touch my eye after I've handled mealworms it gets very red and itchy.

I am also allergic to mealworms. Or maybe it is the mealworm poop I am allergic too? I break out in hives sometimes when handling mealworms and sometimes geckos. It was a big reason I had to cut back on the breeding and I now use gloves and even sometimes a medical mask when dealing with my mealworm colony.
Russell, I just bought a leo a couple weeks ago and have had extremely itchy hives on my arms & legs. The mealworms are the only thing I can figure. Does not contacting the mealies help, or do I need to get rid of them altogether? I can feed my leo other things - I have crickets at the moment but can look at other options. Have you found anything good to relieve the itching? The only thing I've found is Benadryl cream - the pills don't cut it. I've never had hives and itching like this in my life!!
