Do I need to keep the drapes closed?

Some people keep their geckos on cycles so they know when it's bright is to sleep and when it's not is to wake up.
I personally don't use any lights with my geckos, so that they can be up whenever they feel like it
but natural light in the day should be alright as he'd be hiding naturally anyway.
Light is a very controversial topic with leopard geckos.

Leopard geckos are crepuscular, which means they are most active at dawn and dusk. So whenever there's low light is when he'd want to come out.

It's up to you, just make sure the sun through the window isn't overheating the tank.

As soon as I turn off my geckos red lamp he's up no matter what even if the rooms lights are still on. I do sort of cycle by that red light so he may just be a smart cookie though. I second the cooking part. Direct sunlight with overheat the enclosure :)

The tank shouldn't be in direct sunlight. However, having a proper photoperiod is also very important. Is there any way you can move the tank so that the drapes can be open and the tank out of direct sunlight?
