Handling too soon?

I bought my first leopard gecko (Still a baby, about 3 inches, so I don't know the gender) yesterday evening and quite a bit of handling has occurred from then to now. Because I bought most of the interior stuff for the cage at the same time I bought the gecko, I decided to hold it while I put everything in place. They seemed rather calm and crawled up my arm and on my shirt no problem and I held them again this morning while adjusting the cage light. I'm reading now that you want to leave them along for about a week before handling and I'm worried I've disrupted the "settling in" process. Does handling too soon affect them in any way? Have I stressed it out without realizing? They seem alright, they're eating and haven't hissed at me or anything but since this is my first gecko I just want to check to see if its going to be okay.
