Transporting to the vet

What is the best way to transport Carl (4 yr old Leo) to the vet. I believe he is a healthy guy but I am getting concerned about the large bulges under his tail. Since we got him about 7 months ago we just assumed that is what Leo's look like but since looking at lots of pics and videos I have not seen any this big so I want to get him looked at before something happens or he does get sick.
I am worried about stressing him out or him getting too cold. It will be about an hour drive to our closest reptile vet and although we are currently having an unusual heat wave I just don't know what to transport him in.
Thanks experts

You can transport him in a deli cup or tupperware/gladware container with small holes punched in the top or the sides. Or, you can put him in a small critter keeper. I have had several male leos whose bulges get large. They went to the vet and needed some very minor surgery to take out what I think is a buildup of sperm. This sounds really gross, but I regularly squeeze these guys' bulges to get out the sperm plugs. They've been normal size since I started doing this.

I am new so I have been very gentle and nervous about handling him but I'm getting better. I only just touched his tail for the first time to get some pics of the bulges. I have read some horror stories of absecces and then bursting so this is why I'm worried. They are hard. Should I be soaking him or should I be squeezing them or am I right in taking him to the vet? And in the future should I be doing those things?
