Age?

So I bought my younger leopard gecko from a breeder (a reputable breeder, very very good), and I don't know her/his age. I've had Char for about 4 months now. I'm trying to figure out (guess) her/his age. I can't figure out how to post pictures, but Char is 5 1/2 inches long, he/she still has faint bands on his back, but has spots on his tail and face, (Char is a tangerine). Her/his tail is still pretty skinny, although he eats on a regular basis (and PLENTY of bugs too)

There's no way to know, but you'd hope the breeder kept records and would be able to tell you if you ask.
