its ok if you dont personally know any breeders. there are links to a bunch of them at the very top of the forum. also people have a small breeding size group that they usually have as there signature.

i wouldnt buy one from them unless i knew it was a new one in or if it wasnt on the cal sand they are all on

Does your local store even offer mack snows or super mack snows? I was not aware that macks started entering that pet store yet.

My answer is use the resources you have here! On this forum you a plethora of TOP NOTCH breeders from the United States. These guys know what they are doing and are producing some killer animals.

Shipping won't take ANY knowledge on your end, simply make sure you are home that day.. or someone is home for that delivery. Still don't feel secure? Read up about shipping, it is done daily by people all over the world.

Finally, I say buy through breeders you see here because it will start a relationship. That relationship is great to have. Someone you can talk to in the reptile community and someone who can guide you.

Good luck and I wish you speed finding your first gecko.

I don't think that I have seen and macks of supers in pet stores. I would check out breeders. See if you can find a local breeder, and like Matthew said you don't need to know anything about shipping being that you're the recipient (spell).

I can see this thread getting closed because of TOS but, I don't think any pet store is going to carry what you are looking for. Try the breeders on the top of the forum page, or the classifieds. You can find a lot better leos here. Plus the ones on the top of the forum page supports this forum.

I'm not quite sure it's going against TOS as nothing bad has been said about the pet store in question, but I could wrong.

I was in ***** the other day and saw some of the worst looking, most emaciated Leos ever. I made the mistake years ago of buying a pair of Leos from a *large pet chain store* They were sick and both ended up dying before they could recover from their ailments. With so many amazing breeders on this forum, your options are limitless!

There are some stores that sell Macks and other morphs, but for the most part, all you will find at ***** or ******** are normals, albinos, Giant normals, Giant albinos, Tangs, Hypos, and Patternless if you're lucky. That's all I've ever seen at those places, anyway.

Shipping isn't that scary, reptiles are shipped in the safest way possible :)

I would rather go with a breeder. You do not know the conditions the ones at pet stores were in before. At a big pet store, you may or may not get a healthy gecko. I had good experiences with my petco/smart geckos, but a lot hasn't. The price may be cheaper, but the life span may be like the price, not that much.

In the area I live, there is a ***** and *******. The ***** has them in a 55 gallon long, one male with about 8 or 9 females. The cage was okay, but not the cleanest. Their geckos aren't really skinny either. They are decent-looking, but looks are deceiving. They are about 7 or more months old. I never see a really young one there.

Then at *******, the one in my area, there is always little leos, but there is always 3-4 in a cage. The cage is very neat and clean, but so are all the other animal cages. They even have their own reptile doctor and expert there. I guess it depends on the store, and how management takes their pets. They have special experts for almost every category, except fish. Why a fish vet?

They, as with most non breeders, don't know the genetics of the geckos they sell...... not my idea of a gecko to buy .
