I keep reading about people's leos that they se running around in their cage and what not. Well mine goes in one of her 2 hide huts and doesnt come out unless I put crickets in her cage. Should I be worried about her seeing as how she isnt being very active? What would be causing her to be so unactive?

How old is it? When mine was a hatchling until several months old she would always hide when i came in the room, as she grew she got more comfortable with coming out in the open.

It could also be due to temperature. During the winter months leopard geckos tend to brumate.

Ok she is 3 and a half although ive only had her for a week
I use a digital thermostat with a probe and i put the probe under the hide hut and it reads 95 as my hot spot

It takes a while for them to feel comfortable with you in the same room. Fast movements will send them running back to their hides before they are comfortable.

I've had June Bug for a few weeks and I was sitting perfectly, perfectly still yesterday, he came out of his hide...looked at me...and went up to his water bowl and started drinking, which is the most relaxing thing in the entire world by the way...then he looked at me again, and walked back into his hide and fell asleep...

Usually when they are still new in your home, they come out with they know you are not there. So you just don't see them.

Well, my leo only comes out when it's dark. So when it's time for him to come out, I turn off a few lights and then he comes out. He fell asleep on the hottest area on the tank with his legs everywhere. (there isn't a hide directly over it.)

I have some that are really active and I have some that are almost hermits. We have one guy that never comes out except late at night or when we take him out. I think it depends on the gecko. They are all different.
