Smart enough not to jump?

So I was letting my leo climb around on my bed and she was climbing the side of the pillow then she sprinted to the very top to where she could have jumped off between my headboards and fallen. Needless to say I was scared poopless, I didnt want to reach for her because shes still scared of me and tries to run when I grab for her so she would certainly of jumped. So I decided to let her work it out on her own. As I watched she looked over the edge, turned looked at me like "go ahead, test me" waited, and then walked back down the pillow. I was so releived.

Anyway do geckos, as long as their not threatened, have the sense not to throw themselves from high places. Or did I just get lucky?

I'd say no. Mine doesn't seem to have much of an understanding of height. I call her a 'suicide jumper.'

I notice that when scared they obviously have more fear of watever than the fall but my gex seem to be like old people going down the stairs when ever they come down off of a log or whatever

yah my one leo just seems to walk right off of ledges. i had built a second level in his cage and saw him go up the ramp and just walk right off. so i took the second level away. however my other leo usually starts to walk off an edge but right when she gets there she turns around at the last possible second. i am glad yours decided to do the same. :)
