Predator's Reptile Center 2009 Reptile Show DUW

So Amber and I went to this show, and it was our very first reptile show ever, here in Mesa, AZ :main_thumbsup:

Thought I'd share some pics from the show

We ran into "your gecko guy," he was vending at the show with a plethora of different leopard geckos for sale :main_thumbsup: If you look in the middle and off to the right a tad, you'll see a very gorgeous Mack Snow.. she almost came home with me, but I decided that it'd be a better idea to pay rent instead

Love these! African Ghost Land Crabs

they are about 4 inches wide and can get to be 6-7 inches wide :main_yes:

this guy looks like a mini-dinasaur, thought he was really cool

some nice Poison Dart Frogs

arachnids

a couple of beardies

and other cool guys

We ended up going back to where we began in room 1 to check out something, and there was one last crab left.. I could say "no" once, but just couldn't say it twice, so we took her home :heart:

We also got our picture taken with this awesome Eagle Owl

Hi Jess. Looks like a variety but evidently low on geckos perhaps.
Out this way its not a lot of geckos shown as much as snakes,
and things like you photoed. Made a nice outing for the two of you.

There were TONS of snakes there, if not mostly snakes. Some people would have a deli-cup with a gecko here and there, but you're right, not too many besides the ones pictured. We were supposed to go to just look around, but of course, I came home with something lol it was a very nice time

We are going today. I am so excited, even though we don't have a lot of money.

I doubt we will walk out empty handed though.
I have noticed that the reptile shows here don't have very many leopard geckos. I am from central Texas and the shows there always have a lot to choose from. We are looking for snakes also, so at least there will be a lot of those!

Barbel, have a good time!
There are a lot of leopard geckos to look at from Your Gecko Guy, but that's really about it.. of course, if you're looking to pickup some geckos, we aren't too far

awsome jess, i hope you guys can come over to florida one of these years for the daytona show, you guys would love it, over 100,000 sq. ft. of flooring being vended on, like 2 city blocks, but youd prolly spend your rent money for the rest of the year, i know i almost did last year

Nice pics! There is a show twice a month about an hour from here. It's very hard to walk out of there without a new animal. I love rep shows!

The show was fun. The only thing I didn't care for was the separate rooms. It made it feel really crowded. Your Gecko Guy had some really nice stuff, and there were also some really nice ball pythons, but we just couldn't afford anything this time around.

Hopefully we will be in a better position financially for the Tuscan show.

Nice pics. I like the shots of the Blue Tailed Monitor and the Dart Frogs the most. "Crab" is cool!

THANK YOU !!! For the pics Jess it was cool to see some one from GF there. This was my frist show, it was cool. I did end up selling that mack snow girl you should have told me you liked her I would have given you a deal on her but I will have some of her off spring from her coming soon thx again

Oh wow!!! I WANT TO GO TO A REPTILE SHOW SO BAD NOW.

Those are some great pictures and I can see why you took home the crab. He doesn't look real in the photos though.

This is gonna sound weird, but I had always wished that tarantulas were the size of cats and behaved like dogs. I know to some a giant spider is freaky (I have to agree if it's something like a black widow), but tarantulas can be so poofy fuzzy. XD

when i was there i picked up a chilean rose hair and i also got my pic taken wiht the owl lol it was awesome holding him

Thanks Kristi, I wish we had bigger shows here, and more often.. but it's been nice, there have been a lot more going on lately :main_yes: :main_thumbsup:

It was a blast Amber, thanks for taking me

Crab is doing well, we see her come out and eat every so often (when she thinks noone is around).. poor thing is still pretty scared, I think. She eats A LOT though, and I honestly can't believe how big she is now.. not to mention how big she will get! :main_lipsrsealed:

What time did you go? We went at about 6:30 and stayed until 8pm or so. I didn't mind the seperate rooms so much, but it was a little confusing.. I was trying to find "your gecko guy" the whole time and couldn't figure out where room 2 was lol :main_rolleyes:

It was AWESOME, always a pleasure to see others from GF.NET

I honestly have no business buying anymore Snows LOL, so I had to resist anyway.. she really was one of the most beautiful Macks I've ever seen :main_yes: :main_thumbsup:

LOL yeah he really doesn't look all that real! We were told it's a female

but I don't know

I really love the look of some tarantulas.. I think if they were the size of cats and behaved like dogs, a lot more people would like spiders
