Ok, So I have 6 Leo's, I am wondering what do you do to help them not stink so bad. I read that they don't stink, But mine do. How can I help this problem?

They really shouldn't stink. At all. If their feces smells, clean it more often. If it smells really bad, I'd take a sample to the vet and have them check to see if there's anything wrong with them.

never under estimate the power of spot cleaning! my geckos dont stink the tank will tho if i slack on spot cleaning. If you see a turd pick it up, part of being a pet owner i guess! im sure itll help :)

Agree with robin...also be sure to check that they are not defecating in their humid hides or any hide for that matter. During the season a few of my females poop in their coconut fiber and that needs to be removed asap or it will mold and cause more stench

Thanks everyone. I do clean their cage often. The most poo they ever have in it is 2. So maybe i'll look into the poo sample to make sure they are ok.

It might just be me but do you feed them crickets? I find that when we recieve leos from others that feed them crickets their fecal deposits just smells different.

What substrate are you using? There really no way to clean urine out of sand and reptile carpet only gets so clean when you wash it so both of those can smell after time.

Sounds to me like a cleaning thing. The only time I smell anything at all is if I open the door immediately after one of them has wasted. But an hour later, when it is dry, there is no smell at all - plus I clean it up as soon as it dries. On top of spot cleaning, I also remove the tile they go on once a week and clean it with antibacterial soap.

Hope this helps

I have a Cheetah gecko and she has starting smelling in the past week, I figured she's sue to shed but it's akin to sweaty feet. My poor girl!!
Her tank is pristine clean so I'm a little at a loss. No info on the net regarding this, any info aside from cleaning tank is greatly appreciated.
Love to you and your reptile babies!!!

I have a litter box for my geckos. If you want to make one it's pretty easy. Basically what you do is have a small open top box with a cut out so they can walk into it. I filled mine with eco-earth seeing as Eco-earth collects the smell and keeps the cage smelling fresh. Stick a bit of their poop in the box to start with and make sure to clean up any other spots cleaning them to make sure the geckos can't smell it. Soon they will start going in the littler box. This way it's a easy clean up and there is no risk of smell. X3
