Multiple sheds, back to back?

I'm 100% certain each gecko has gone through a shed on it's own since I brought them home the 10th of April. They are all starting a second shed one week after they finished their first shed since coming home. This isn't parts of the body.. this is a full body shed on all 4 females. They're full grown adults so I had a hard time thinking they were growing so much. is this normal to have sheds back to back like this?

I got my Leo on the 15th and he shed the 16th. He is almost completely white again and about to shed in probably a couple days. Let me know what you find out as I thought it wasn't normal with my Leo either.

He's full grown too, he's 4 years old around 9 1/2 inches long. Maybe they are just gaining weight and that's why they are shedding quick. Mine was raised on 10 mealworms every other day. Now he eats 3-5 large crickets or 3-5 superworms every other to every three days. He's eating alot more then he use to so I just think he's gaining weight and growing.
I thought I was the only person experiencing this here, so I don't think it's a problem if your four females and my male are shedding frequently.

That's a good point. Mine get 10 supers put in the dish over night and whatever is left goes back in to the bin and then they are fed the next day, so every other day. Their tails are getting considerably fatter as well as their tummies. That's quite likely what it is... putting on the weight, not really growing.

Yeah I think it's just them gaining weight. I know my male looks alot bigger then he did before and he still has a fair amount of weight to gain I think. His tail is fatter then it was but he's got more to go lol.

You are probably doing like me and feeding more then the old owner did. My male is a
raptor and he looks funny when he's ready to shed, he looks like a creamsicle as his orange color gets so washed out.

If you don't mind what kind of bowl are you using to keep super worms in? I went thru 3 different bowls and not a single one of them could contain the super worms. Please let me know what bowl you are using.

My Leo eats more super worms then crickets and it would be so much easier to find a bowl that I could leave in his tank without the worms getting out of it.

Oh man I know what you mean about teh worms getting out. Was happening in both my bearded and gecko tanks. In my beared tank I ended up using a 5x5x3 tupperware dish so the dragon can pearch himself easier. In the gecko tank, I picked up a rather largish plastic candy dish type from Publix. You could use a tupperware dish for them too, I just didn't have one that was available to go to the lizards lol.

as far as I know shedding often like that would either be from rapid growth or if there is stuck/retained shed that the gecko is trying to work out. Not sure what else it could be...

I'm banking on that at this point, with all 4 geckos doing it and not one of them has any previous shed stuck on them. They all had really flawless first time sheds (first time for me anyways). I'll need to weigh them at some point I suppose. They all 4 are definitely putting on a good amount of weight though.

I don't have a scale, if I did I would weigh my male. I know he's gaining weight i can see it. I don't have room for a big Tupperware dish, I'm gonna try to find one tho. I can't fit another 5x5x3 bowl inside, I use one of those for his humid hide.

Look on craigslist for a bigger tank ;) Could probably get a 20gallon long for 20 bucks if you keep your eyes out, depending where you live.

I have a 20gallon long now lol. I leave a castle decoration in his tank all the time for him to play with lol. It helps him shed and he climbs on it and crawls thru it.
I'm ready to take out his cool hide and just use his humid hide over there. He rarely goes in it and it's basically just taking up space. He goes in his humid hide more then the cool hide but I don't know why. His temps are fine he just prefers the humid hide over the $7 hide I bought for the cool side.

I've been looking for a 30gallon breeder tank on craigslist but I can't ever find one. I can't go bigger then a 30 gal or it will hang off my stand.
The stand is like 38 long and the 30breeder is 36x16x16 I think, I'm not sure on the height but I think it's 16

I had him in a 20tall at first then I got the 20long for $10 off craigslist. I never see 30gal breeder tanks tho and a new one with a lid is $100. I could really use the extra room even tho it's just him in that tank lol.

The only thing I know is to expect nothing to be Normal after getting new Gecko's in a new tank from a breeder...lol.

Maybe someone can come up with a another care sheet so to speak that covers the most popular "20 questions" lol!

It would have been a lot better for me if I was told....... take 2 aspirin and call me in 30 days....lol.

You can go bigger if you aren't too worried about looks. A longer tank isn't gonna have the same restrictions that a filled aquarium has when you place it on a 'smaller' stand. If that still worries you, you can get a few pieces of 2x4 and cut them to length of the tank then place them between the dresser/counter and the tank.

The 30gal breeder tank would fit perfectly on my stand. I could use the extra 6inches of length and 4 inches of depth. I just don't want to pay $100 for it lol.
