Just curious if anyone has had a Gecko who seems to know what their name is. I was thinking about it since I just figured what to name my little unknown, Darwin :)

Our geckos seem to know when we are talking to them because they will shift their heads and look at us when we talk to them, but I think they are just hearing the tone of our voices to determine if we are a threat or not.

Yea, I agree they dont learn their names but coming into the room with a bag or a cup brings them running to the front! They definitely know when their gonna getta goodie :)
And if they arent awake to see me come in with the food, then a tap on the top screen brings them out :) So "Pavlov" response- yes But- Id say its a no to learning names. But it' still fun to name them :)

LOL Dave.

Thanks for the replies. I haven't read into gecko intelligence, or lack there of. That will have to be another topic to look into. Its probably a good thing they arn't to smart, they might start hunting us in packs (Jurassic Park moment).

i mean i suppose they have basic memory to know where the heat source is and the water etc... but i mean how short term is it.
