Hello All,
I wanted to start a new thread but it has been so long since I have done it that I forgot how to.

I was just cleaning both of my gecko's cages and put them together for 2 min and that is all it took. My 110 gram male beast bit my 75 gram male and put a big bite on his back. The skin in laying in the right position but is obviously detached from his back the size of one huge gecko bite. Any ideas on what I need to do to treat him? He is 4 years old and very healthy.

Thanks

Nick

Haha I've had my gecko fro a day and he already took a bite on my finger. I was trying to show him that the crickets where in his food bowl (I was holding it by the hind leg and leading him over with it)Turns out they can lunge pretty far, though, so I got a little scrape.Yeah, I think I'll use tongs from now on. (Update: He has now eaten about 3 medium sized crickets and [thankfully]found his food bowl.)

First time I ever got bit it scared the hell outta me! But then I kinda laughed because I have been bitten by other things and this was NOTHING compared to those. It was a good bite too, one of those no thank you I have had enough of you!!
I think the worst is when they confuse your hand for food, because then once they latch on their eyes are closed and they are all about the food... until they realize your finger isnt the cricket or worm they were going after. Such silly little guys.

I've only had two of my leos nip at me while they were small. My middle-sized girl hated the sight of my hand and would scream and lunge at me if I moved too fast, but now she's a total sweetheart and will come running out of her cave onto my hand for feeding. Her bites didn't hurt, but her screams definitely made me jump on more than one occasion!
The youngest one was still very tiny when she thought my finger was food and tried to bite it - I saw more than felt the action. Lately though if I do something she doesn't like she'll set her mouth on my hand (finger tip) but not actually bite down in a "Cut it out!" manner. The mid-sized one that was a biting screaming terror now just thwacks the side of my hand with her tail if I did something to annoy her.
The big one hasn't bitten me, and now she's big enough to cause damage, I intend to do anything I can to not encourage a bite XP

I think if a Giant reached into my house and tried to pick me up, I would probably try to bite it's finger or wet myself. Either way i would be horrified

Ozy will normally just tell me off with squealing and such. She's weird though. I've had her for quite awhile now and she still doesn't like to be handled. She has NEVER tried to bite me or even acted like she's going to bite. She just hollers at me and waves her tail around. lol

My male giant sun glow doesn't like to be handled much. He has snapped at me a few times. Actually bit my wife the other night and drew blood. Some geckos are just moody.

Yes, been bitten twice by the same Gecko. The first time I didn't even feel it, the second time it just felt like she was pinching me. She was only maybe 9 months old at the time though, lol.

My male used to ride around the house on my shoulder but whenever I went to take him off of me he'd chomp down on the tip of my finger. It just felt like a close pin. My ball python, and the male crested gecko I used to have have also both bitten me, and both of those drew blood. The crested gecko bite didn't hurt as much as the leo but it definitely came down a lot harder, and the ball python by far was the most painful as he thought my wiggling finger was a pinkie or something (no pun intended).

She bit me today! :) Well almost...
She´s bitten me before but that does not count because then she just mistook me for food. The bite then was similar to a clothespin and she was reluctant to letting go... but today when I was cleaning her terrarium she came to see what I was doing and to get in my way (no... really looking for food I guess ;) I thought I´d just as well pick her up for a quick health checkup. When I tried to pick her up she looked at my fingers just like she was saying "No touching! Leave me be!" When I persisted she nibbled my finger just a little bit (definitely not a "food-bite") as if to emphasise what she just said and then turned around and calmly walked back home to her hides. :D Oh, she´s such a posh yet determined lady!

I remember seeing a post where a member put up a pic of her lip that was bloody and torn open from her gecko not appreciating her attempt at affection so I'm sure some of those can be pretty bad depending on whether or not the leo is like just back off or dude Im gonna kill you.

My 8yr old daughter had that happen last night. first night "spot" was in his/her new home... it left 3 puncture wounds... She complained more about a burning sensation more than anything.

Her lip isn't swollen, She was puckered up when it happened. So I am rolling her lip up to get both sides in the picture

It didn't hurt it was just the shock of it chomping down on my finger and wouldn't let go just hanging on.

My Leo thinks she can fly. My daughter got me my 1st Leo and was bought at franchise pet store. I read this every now and then and I haven't posted until recently I need to post and see if any one else had this. I want to make sure I'm doing everything right when I got her settled into her new home. He seemed very active. Like to climb on everything very high so I started to slow things down a little bit well one day she decided to jump and she jumped over the cage and I couldn't find her for day. When I found her I went to pick her up. she was really scared and run around I had to go to wear gloves and she bite me. she was scared and hungry she was just a little tired . I have cats I'm sure they did see her. The next few days you could see her just keep climbing and climbing and trying to jump out of cage. wasn't sure what to do and I desided maybe she don't like how low her home was and she wants to look down at everything. I put a sreen on her top she hated it I took it off. She seemed to be happy except she tried to continue to jump off the cave and she just kept trying. Well I think she's very smart because you can see she's thinking of what to do. well she got out this time I didn't find it her I all most gave up but I kept hearing little by my desk. Then in my closet one of our cats was sitting on a box and something was making a lot of noice. I checked the box and there she was. I couldn't believe it she was a live. I put her back in her home with a top. Today she very happy but still thinks she can fly. Its crazy.! She just don't like being in a cage. Problem was after 2 scarey attempts and my hands she got scared to death. So when u feed her she would do anything to get a way from my hands. So I desided to leave my hand in her home and let her come to me after a lot of patients finally she to like me and I let her our moving into
