Jerry, geckos change seasonally, in their activities and eating habits. Since you've not wintered over your gecko yet, some of his new patterns may be confusing. Slowing down in the winter is perfectly normal, as many other reptiles do. It can be challenging to keep a glass tank warm enough in New England winters, and a lot of folks use additional heat sources such as lights and insulating the tank. Also covering most of the screen top to keep heat and humidity from escaping. You took good care of your boy and got him healthy, try not to worry about small stuff. He was very tolerant of you handling him, and it wouldn't hurt anything if you take him out for a little exercise, even if he grumbles a bit :)
