I found an infant Gecko

While I was in the pet store the other day buying a 70 gallon cube for saltwater fish i pulled the cardboard away from the tank to see if the tank was ok, and inside the tank on the bottom was a teeny gecko.
I closed it all back up and brought him and the tank home. I only had to make do with what i have which was one of those medium sized plastic critter cages, i had a rock bowl for water, a paper towel moistened daily, and i have an under tank heater on the side of my box turtles tank so i put the baby geckos plastic tank right up against the heater.
He has been staying on the sides of the tank right next to the heater, i plan on putting a light over him in a few days.
The problem is hes not eating, i gave him three pin head crickets, i can find two of them but one i think is lost under the paper towel.
Last night a pin head walked right passed him and he didnt do anything.
He sticks his tongue out alot and he is crazy active, im afraid to go in to change his water because he freaks out and he gets like spiderman jumping all over the place and im afraid he will jump out of his inclosure.
I think hes a mediteranean gecko, sorry for the post here under leopards but i didnt find one for medits
Here is a picture of him, i named him Boy Wonder, hes gone so far i feel bad if he'd die, but with no food how long can he last :(
He did make a poop in the 70g cube, but since ive had him no poops. I have him about 4 days now.
Last night i put a piece of cantelope in with him to attract fruit flies because my box turtle has fruitfly pests in with him so im hoping they will hop on over :main_laugh:
The pet shop was in Pennsylvania (That Pet Place) so i know he cant be native, his parents must have been escapees because i dont think they sell them at this size...hes like an inch long..and dang is he wild :main_laugh:

Since I don't know enough about his species to offer habitat/feeding advice, I'll give the standard "new pet" advice that they can take a few days of being left alone to settle in.

I almost wonder if they were using them as feeders or something at that size ... don't know how big they get.

Also, does he have sticky feet, then?

give him time to settle. I would have put him in a 5-10gal bin or tank. 70g is a bit much to start. Hes still young for even a Med Gecko. They get a few inches.

Btw, hes a introduced species, and is found where you are :p. People bring them in ALL THE TIME thinking they are Leos or AFT.

I completely missed the "I think he's a mediterranean gecko" part the first go-through, actually. Brain was too busy thinking "oh, what kind of gecko is that?" :main_laugh:

More hiding places would probably make it feel more comfortable... and climbing stuffs. Mist the tank, etc. See care sheet.
I tried to post this stuff earlier but my pc rebooted on me >_<
...stupid windows update

Thanks everyone :)
I got a spot light on him now for some warmth, i only had a 60w bulb handy but because its one of those plastic tanks i dont want to risk melting or fire with anything too hot.
Monday when i go to the petshop i will get him some moss and a plastic vine.
I guess i wanted to observe him for a few days before i started spending money on him, you know just in case he died or something.
The 70 gallon isnt for him lol, i was at the pet store buying it for saltwater fish.
I dont think geckos are found in PA, with all the snow we get? i dunno lol
