Your Friendliest Leopard Gecko: Male or Female?

I have one leopard gecko. Banana Blizzard female, who wants nothing to do with me unless I have tweezers with a roach or mealworm on the end. Had her ever since she was a teeny little baby, tried everything to tame her and she still does NOT like to handled.. She's very independent and wants it HER way.. LOL

I think Dango is a female and she is my friendliest

I thought she was pretty rambunctious when I brought her home, but in the month and a half I've had her she's really grown to be a gentle and calm leo

Mitarashi is still a little shy, and understandably so (been at my house for just a week). Not sure of gender, but the V-scales aren't darkened, so maybe a girl as well?

My girl is always cranky and will only tolerate me handling with loud protest, but my new little one who I haven't sexed yet will walk up on my hand and sit for a while and even catch a nap.

LOL Lindz! Ozy does the same thing. I handle her on the rare occasion she has shed stuck on a leg (which has only happened like 2 or 3 times and it's always right below the elbow on her front right leg, it's kinda cool after I soak her, because it comes off like a glove) and she is not shy about voicing her displeasure at me. The only way I can keep her still is to hold her right over the water, then she stays still, because she knows if she jumps for it, she's just going to land in the water and she REALLY doesn't like that. LOL

-least tame female is a snow diablo blanco (40g)
-least tame male is a tremper sunglow (57g)
-most tame female is an eclipse het tremper (90g) She is the only one who never freaks out, and actually licks and crawls into my hand.
-tame female snow raptor het diablo blanco (75g)
-tame female super snow (25g) who has been tame since the day I got her as a baby.

My male Giant Mack Snow has to be the friendliest gecko i have and i have 11 total. My female Diablo Blanco's are all skittish and will bite at the drop of a hat. My only other male is a regular size Mack Snow and he is very gentile, never has he bitten me.

I have two females. One is Boltz, I got from Gecko Ranch and Epic, whom I got from Hot Geckos. Boltz is really skittish and doesn't like being touched. And Epic is really lazy and doesn't even care if you hold her. She usually sits in one place all day.

I have a group of 6, and my male will tolerate handling very well, but he's never exactly thrilled to see me. I do have two chubby females that do seem to enjoy regular interaction, and while all the girls I have are now adults and tolerate handling, these two in particular are extra sweet. They'll walk up to see me, eat out of my hands, and don't mind who pets or holds them.

In the stores, I have not seen a correlation in gender to how nice they are. Incubation temps do often affect temperament, though - higher incubation temps can often result in more aggressive or cranky leos.

I have to agree, I have a large, older, male who closes his eyes and literally pushes up into your finger while petting very similar to cat. I've asked about this on this forum and had people suggest it might be an aggressive behavior but I hardly think that's likely. He often falls asleep while being pet and like you said right before he sheds he will come to my hand hoping for a pet.
I also have to put one in for larger males, the reptile vet I take him to said he's the most friendly and gentle reptile they've ever dealt with. I have only ever had my one leo but I would assume, like most animals, the way you handle them and how much you handle them has to factor in with how friendly or docile they are.

If my male, Ackbar, is outside of his hide when I go in there, and stays out of his hide when I walk up to his cage I know he wants to come out, and he'll be the sweetest gecko on the planet. If I walk in there and he runs into his hide, or if he watches me and tries to sneak into his hide, then getting him out is like pulling teeth. But sometimes he has to come out whether he likes it or not, because I don't know if he's acting irritable because somethings irritating him, like skin on his toes or debris in his eyes. The female, Beru doesn't give a hoot, and usually seems to be perfectly content with coming out and letting me handle her, and Owen, the baby, is still getting used to me having a permanent role in his life, but the amount he's been coming out of his hide and exploring, or just hanging out openly after owning him for just 6 days, and the way he has adjusted to coming out and getting weighed every morning makes me feel he may end up being as friendly as Beru.

I have 2 leos, a male hyper melanistic, and a female albino. The female albino is very sweet and tame and such, but she still has those moments where she freaks out, even though I handle her twice daily.

My male is a month older but around the same length, just fatter. I havent had him more than 2 weeks and he is the calmest gecko I have ever handled. He came from a pet store where his only handling was from me, maybe he just likes me or something, but he is far more calm than my female, whom i have had for months.

So far my older male, Balios is the friendliest of my guys. Lethe, my youngest and Balios' offspring seems to have inherited his demeanor...or maybe she just can't wait for me to feed her, lol. Actually, she wanted to explore my hand while I was cleaning her enclosure the other day so I just let her do her thing until I wasn't so interesting anymore. I didn't think I'd be interesting to a month old gecko, lol

Males for sure... I have 14 gecks and my super giant boy is a total love bug. The bigger they are the sweeter it seems. Close second is my 78g normal male. Both these guys crave attention. My females could care less about being held or petted.

My big 9" male Demon is very calm and tolerates whatever on the other hand my females hate being held or touched and my one smaller male is like the females

I've got a female named "Dora", after the kids show Dora the explorer. I put my hand in her cage and she comes out of anywhere and climbs right on my hand. Looks up at me like "ok take me out. She hangs out on my shoulder or my daughters heads.

I would say females are friendlier by far I have 6 leos 3 male and 3 female all the females are great with being handled and only 1 of my males can be handled without too much caution and he still has his troubles this may have something to do with the stories of HOT females being more agressive maybe the higher incubation Temps could couse a less friendly gecko

Also I have 1 male who is extremely aggressive I can't pick him up at all every time I'm doing anything near his tub he straight out attacks the side of the tub
