Isn't it amazing how fast things can add up? I just spent another $150 when I was browsing an eBay store...on stuff that I just happened to think: "Yeah that would be nice...and it's half the price of the petstore". lol

I was sitting here at 1am in the dark living room and watching my Leo's wandering around their tanks, and I just couldn't stop...haha

"Yeah, smoke needs a new cold-hide" "Yeah, Bubble buddy and Nosey Rosey (females) are going to need a big warmhide" "Yeah I need about 3 of the zoomed 10-20gal UTH's...1 for B-buddy and N-Rosey, 1 for the bottom of my cricket colony tub, 1 each for my 2 males to get a 10gal tank, each...." "Yeah, I need that $24 48oz tub of Calcium+d3 for future use (I already have the $24 48oz tub of C-d3..lol)"...."Repticarpets for $3 or $5/each (10 or 29gal)...??....HECK YEAH!!!"

I couldn't stop... :O

We are about to do some redecorating in the tanks.. :D And I am already waiting on 2,000 more crickets, habba mister, and herpstat basic redline.....anyday now....Christmas allll over again...all for my Leo's!! :)

petstore-web in Pet Supplies > Reptile Supplies| eBay

------------------------

Now if only I can find a few basic on/off thermostats for less than $25/each. :( The herpstat on its way is just for the incubator....I need a few thermostats for monitoring floor temps in the tanks and the cricket colonies.

I spent a bunch on Amazon, one of the dens had weak magnets and would not stick so annoying so I had to retrun it. I also got a back ground and some fake plants..

I had the tanks and stands but I spent about $300 on mine just in decor and heat pads ECT.. Then I spent more.. I got a lot of it discount or used.. They seemed like such simple pets on sell for $15 each.. But then it's like they are occupants of a desert Doll house for grown woman..OH look at that mini cow skull, that would look great by their Rock hide tower! ( Add to cart) Looks at that taller fake plant it will add some height to the landscape! ( add to cart) Oh I added another occupant! Added all new hides to the cart!

Oh that fish tank background will not do anymore Add new desertone to cart.

I'm so hooked, after only 3-4 months, that I have spent over $1,000+ (probably closer to $2,000) on geckos, terrariums, decor, crickets, UTH, OTH's/bulbs, liners, digital thermometers, hides, hides, hides, herpstat basic redline, habba mist, rack system w/heattape, hovabator, etc......etc......etc.....and of course, crickets, crickets, and more crickets....

I feel like I now own a petstore and I can shop my own supply. :) Unfortunately, my big order won't be here until monday :(...but today I got in my 2,000 crickets and habbamist. So today I setup the new attempt at a self-sufficient colony. Tomorrow I will start playing with the herpstat that came in yesterday. :)

Having two kids in college, I'm one of those cheap people. Newspaper for substrate, a simple cool hide, a simple warm hide, and a cool whip container humid hide. Tanks and stands are always on hand since I've been keeping herps since my kids were in preschool. I don't spend much!

Oooops, I...did it again!! (stupid Brittney Spears song stuck in my head!!!)

I spent another $168 at the same website. Just can't help but to buy in bulk when I want to put in an order.

Bought 4 20-Long carpets, 3 10gal UTH's, 6 ZooMed dig thermometers (which WILL all be used to monitor temps in the corners of my big incubator), and 3 large hides.

1 of the hides was out of stock, so that left me with 2 hides on the order....and the one I got yesterday is UUUUUGGGGLLLLYYYY. I think it is made by Custom Creations(??) and is called a lizard lounge. It has a great design and great size for a 20Long tank.....but the paint job is attrocious: bad color and bad quality. It is the same company/color/quality of a small hide I ordered 2 weeks ago...I won't make the mistake of ordering that Brand of hide EVER AGAIN.

If only there was a SAFE way to use paint thinner on it....it probably looks better without the slopppppy half-coat of paint. The paint color is almost a "burnt orange" like the Dukes of Hazard car.... In the pic on the website (same with the other hide 2 weeks ago) it looks to be a desert-beige. Disappointed....I will reluctantly use it one day or just give it away with a local gecko-sale later this year.

I am half-asleep right now so I can't remember, but I sure as heck HOPE that the other hide (scheduled for delivery later today from their other warehouse) is NOT the same brand or bad quality as the first 2.

CORRECTION!!!!: It was not a "Custom creations" lizard lounge!! It was a Zilla Herp hotel...and it was a medium Zilla hide of some type that I ordered 2 weeks prior...both were uggggly... :( I am quite pleased with the Custom Creations hides I have gotten. :D

If a moderator can please correct my previous post, I don't want to leave a negative comment floating around about the wrong products....especially about good products!! :D Thanks!!

Third time is the charm:

After going on a spending frenzy, I now have (or have ordered).....
6 new leos from geckosetc :D
50ft of THG heattape on the way
and another 2 sets of HDX plastic shelving (heattape and both shelves combine to make another 1x 9shelf hatchling rack to accommodate my extra leos' hatchlings this year)

:O

You're on fire! lol

I have to admit, I spend relatively little on my geckos. The huge tank they are all in was a gift, as was the table it sits on, and then the decor is all naturalistic so in total setting it up was maybe a $60 total between plants, cork hides, and soil. Then maybe another $60 in UTH pads and $8 in ceramic food/water dishes. Maybe that's why my geckos are sort of my "for fun" pets, because by comparison I've spent a small fortune on my chameleons! lol
