Please help!! been spending countless hours looking at tons of online sellers .......i am specifically looking for a very bright orange / redish animal for a purchase (as a pet and not for breeding at this time) i am looking for something REALLY special and i know along with that goes a price and I am fine with that as i expect to pay up for something very eye catching.....all i ask for in return is I WANT TO GET SOMETHING THAT LIVES UP TO ITS ONLINE PHOTO 100%! problem is i see certain photos that i consider "untrue to real life".....I study these pictures on line and if u know what to look for it gets more and more obvious. why is it that have i watched so many unboxing videos and i never see anything close to what i see on their sights, coincidence?....from your experience who has the brightest and deepest line of orange/red based animals.....i just want a standout as in borderline reddish and i want to be able to trust the pics i see as thats what i am basing my purchase on.....where should i turn?, and please speak only from experience.....
PS how about those breeders who either wont send me some "non staged shots" or who when u ask for some more pics they have the exact same obvious red tint applied to those picture as well....i find that totally dishonest......i am willing to pay high end price but dont want my one and only purchase to be less than expected.

I don't have a high end geckos and I have never seen one in real life but my chain store $14 one is so bright orange it's almost a neon color to the eyes, a flash brings out a bit more orange. Videos unless you have high end pro ones just can't capture the color and make everything look drab and gray so I don't get how your a expret in photoshop, yet don't understand that most personal videos that are posted on youtube ECT have such low color capturing ability and lose even more once up loaded? I have never shiped a Gecko but wonder how the stress of shiping effect color as well.

Pictures took most times have a flash! Have you even seen a unboxing video done in room lighting as bright as a flash? um no, pro videos have huge amounts of stage lighting to get the colors correct.

All the unboxing videos I see people are commiting on how the video Don't show or pick up the real color and how super amezed they are at the animals color. coincidence? just to use your words..

Color can depend on the setting of your camara and if a flash is used and the lighting plus the equipment. then you have to look to YOUR own computer monitor. Have you calabrated your monitor to show color correcly? if you have great. But it needs to be the same as a breeder to get a true picture..

As a breeder of Angelfish it can be super hard to get a nice picture of your stock, you want your stock to look perfect, your not going to want to put pictures out there that are crummy and don't high light your animals to their best! Also it takes a great deal of time to get that perfect shot.

Edited picture^

The edited one shows the animal in a much better light and seem more true to color that I see with my eyes, in fact I think the tail is WAY WAY MORE NEON in real life. but if I bring the tail where it should be the body gets a tad too bright so I have a choice, do I make the tail the correct color and enhance the body a tad or show the animal at a lower quaility then what it is to my nakid eye? If I was a breeder I don't see why I would want pictures of my animals chilling in a unflattering background or make the choice to show the animal in a lower quaility then what I pick up with my eye so I might work it a little.

I sort of feel like your saying breeders are all unethical and out to trick and get your money and it's sort of chaping my buns.. It's called marketing.. and no harm in asking about finding a good breeder just the wording is off putting..

In the Attached picture I toned down the neon color of the tail as you can see the camera makes it into a fuzz neon glow.. My eyes sort of do the same thing when I'm looking at the animals tail in real life.. it looks fuzzy as it's so bright.

Like I have said, mine is a chain store Gecko and NOT a small breeder one, I'm sure the breeder ones Can be a tad better sometimes ..

If I had lived in the US, I would have put in an order with Steve Sykes of geckosetc.com. He is very well established breeder with many gorgeous animals to offer. Also, seemed to be really good about customer service in the couple emails I exchanged with him. :)

Thanks for the info herbiebug much appreciated. I guess I am partly asking who has some of the brightest orange / red base color in their lines of geckos here in the USA as I have seen crazy orange / reddish colors seemingly from overseas. Again anyone speaking from experience having purchased crazy bright orange/red high end animals your feedback is welcomed and would love to see your personal shots as I find it extremely helpful to see the animals under everyday lighting to set proper expectations.

Here's the tang gal I picked up from Ohio Gecko and a couple of her daughters. If I picked up another I'd invest in something nice from his G63 project (this gal isn't from that project). Thad's animals from that G63 stuff will blow you away.

Technically he is doing research by asking for reccomendations from actual customers. He just wants to make sure that the quality he sees in the photos will be present in person also.
